Win DVD

Since upgrading to XP my InterVideo Win DVD won’t run. Are there any patches out there? Thanks

Yes. When I upraded my mother's 3 month old Inspiron2500 to XP HE, it directed me automatically to intervideo's site and downloaded a patch but you could go there manually I suppose.

I had version 1.x which came with the Dell. I could find no support or upgrade for this version. I think there is a upgrade for version 2.x on intervideo's site but I simply purchased version 3.0 from intervideo and downloaded it, works fine.

Your right. The patch was for 2.0 version only.
Glad you got it fixed though.

For those you don't need a complete DVD player, Intervideo has a product called DVD Xpack for $14.95 that will work with Media Player. It can be purchased and downloaded on line. Go to http://www.intervideo.com/jsp/Product_Profile.jsp?p=DVDXPack for more info.

    Regards

I think I fixed it myself. I uninstalled and then reinstalled it and it is working, for now.

    My specs are posted below....

I just upgraded from 98 to XP yesterday. Although the upgrade advisor said that the version of WinDVD 'may' be incompatible I went ahead and installed it today to test it out. I have version 1.2.99. Although I have not tried to use this program alone, I have tested a movie DVD and a music DVD and they are playing just fine with this software 'through' Windows Media Player. Hope this helps. I'd like to hear from other people who are doing this...have you run into any problems?

Click on Help and Support and search for DVD. You will find links to free upgrades for most DVD players.
