Windows 7 Question / Hardware Question

Hey,

I was wondering if anyone knew how much Dell would charge to get a Upgrade DVD for a Inspiron 1505 ( Year old ).

Also , how long would you think that it would take Dell to fix a broken DVD drive ? My guess is two weeks.

Any thoughts,

Dave :)

The E1505 is significantly more than a year old - more on the order of three years old.   A Windows 7 upgrade will run from about $100 for Home to over $200 for 7 Ultimate - it depends on the version.  The price is pretty much the same no matter where you buy it.

Dell charges a flat $200 for repairs other than to the screen or mainboard.  They will not "fix" a drive - they'll replace it.  You can do the same in about ten-15 minutes;  the drive runs about $80 for a DVD writer:

Sorry, i posted the wrong Computer, it's a 1525. Also , i was just wondering if Dell offered any rebates or anything ,but apparently not. As for the DVD drive, it has a 3 year warranty on it , so that should be fine , and we shouldn't have to pay for it.

    Thanks

    Dave.
