A couple of things to check, since this seems to be video related, check to be sure your video card driver is current or even updating may help.  Get the driver from the card manufacturer website, not Windows Update.

Check your event viewer to see if you can narrow down a specific error message by doing this:

Go to your Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Event Viewer Check under the System Tab for any listed error messages. If any are found, repost them in a new thread or go to http://www.google.com and input the error message in the search box to see if solution may be listed. Kip

Faulting application explorer.exe version 6.0.2800.1221, faulting module nvcpl.dll version 6.14.10.5672 fault address 0x000270d8    This appears to be a problem with the Nvidia driver.  Reinstalling may help.  If your not aware, uninstalling the previous driver is essential prior to installing.

Couldnt find what you were talking about under system Kip but i believe i found the error messages you were refering to under the application tab. I found a few different error messages relating to explorer heres what i found.

I think this is the information you were talking about? Hope this gives you a better idea. Also i do have my video drivers updated to the latest version direct from the Nvidia website. I've installed the patch mentioned above as well not sure if it will help me if its related to folder crashing but i'll give it a shot.

I went ahead an did what you said Kip uninstalled my nvidia drivers an reinstalled again. Was aware to remove the previous ones so dont think that could have been the case. While reinstalling them did seem to stop it from crashing during a game it didnt seem to solve the crashing that occurs when i right click on a video file which is the one that happens quite frequently. I've also been aware of viruses an spyware an have been using bps spyware remover regularly ran a check for spyware/adware,viruses, and trojans no more than 2 days ago using trojan hunter,mcaffee, and bps so i should be alright there. The specific error report i can find for the explorer crashing when i right click over a video file reads.

Seeing as it states the faulting module as unknown im not sure how much help this information though.
