Motherboard failure x3

xps15 laptop has been a complete disappointment and great source of irritation.

This was a absolute premium machine with a premium price tag and yet in just over a years time, outside of warranty of course, the motherboard failed 2015. I sent it in and had it replaced at a cost to me.  In 2016 the computer failed again, it was sent in and the motherboard was replaced again.  At a cost. Now the computer failed once more, and it appears to be the motherboard, as suggested by Technical Support.  Of course just outside of warranty.  So now I'm told to send it back in the for an assessment. " However since the computer is 4 years old they might not be able to get parts for it."

This is one very expensive paper weight..

Of course, they would be happy to sell me a new one.    The only solution I foresee right now, is to have the SDD pulled out and salvage the content and forget about this.

One very very frustrated, unhappy, disappointed with Dell - Individual

My laptop xps15 also suddenly  stopped working on me.  I could not turn it on anymore and was advised by Dell that it is likely the motherboard.  My warranty just expired 2 months earlier so now I have to pay several hundred dollars to have it repaired.  I was told this problem was rare but this does not appear to be the case.  I am now worried that this laptop will just be an endless money pit.  This will be my first and only Dell.
