Vostro 1500 random beep
My 2 weeks old Vostro 1500 is randomly emitting a loud kind of bip/squeak/squeal sounding like "crreee-eeEeeEEEEPPP!!!"
I couldn't find a way of reproducing it, it happens once or twice a day and doesn't seem to be related to what I do.
I heard it while browsing the internet, doing some word processing and even while just watching a movie.
Note that the sound doesn't come from the speaker but from under the keyboard.
I updated the Bios to the latest version but it didn't make any difference.
Any ideas what could be causing it?

Diagnostic didn't report anything wrong.
Sorry I don't understand the link with the beep and CD/DVD.
Anyway I disabled the internal speaker, we will see if it do the trick.

If Diagnostics does not find any problems, but the beeps continue and you want to stop it, go to the CD/DVD forum, click on the FAQ (the first post in the list) and go to number 11. Here is a direct link to it:

Did that sound again even with the internal speaker disabled.
Guess it only leaves the hard drive then...

Is there a way of getting in touch with Dell support by email?
Having to wait on hold 30min before speaking to an agent when calling the support line is eating my cell plan fast.
