Ok, I should connect to the the S-Video out and use an adapter to connect to Component video.
Will Dell's "S-Video to TV-Composite Cable with SPDIF Adapter for Dell Inspiron 1420" work on the E1705?
(Dell Part# : 310-9359)

You'll need a VGA to component video converter box or cable.

The video signal at the VGA output is suitable for connection to a TV only if the TV has a VGA input. The VGA video signal is analog and has separate red, green and blue components, but it is in a format for computer monitors.
If your TV does not have a VGA input but has a component video input, then you can get a component video output from the S-video TV-out connector of your Inspiron E1705 by using a special component video adapter that is available from DELL.
