XPS M1710 - Keyboard replacement
Hello,
I've had my XPS Laptop/Notebook since September and for the last few months keys have been coming off and not staying on to the point that I have decided to ask for help.
I have followed numerous guides and tried to fix the problem to no avail and have now decided to purchase a replacement keyboard so I can be rid of this annoying problem once and for all.
So, where should I go to find a replacement keyboard WITH instructions for removing the old keyboard and fitting the new one?
I have searched the Dell UK site but found nothing at all.
Please help me, I can't stand this torment any longer :(.
Thanks in advance,
- Ray.

Call Dell - the keyboard is customer replaceable and they'll ship you one under warranty.

In fact, stripping the system while it's still under warranty, would almost certainly void the warranty!
For those reasons, I'd be phoning tech support, and explaining the problem to them, first.

That is what I suggested - they will ship a keyboard under warranty. Keyboards do not require system return or technician dispatch to replace.

I understand it won't cost the customer.
However...
What if the customer were to break something during the 'transplant' - say a cable or connection!?
And it's my understanding, that stripping the system... for whatever reason, would immediately invalidate the warranty?
