Replacement for dead 7900gs

Hey all,

Some of the memory on my nvidia geforce go 7900 gs burned out about 2 days ago and I am looking for a replacement card for my E1705.

I am considering the Quadro FX2500 for the added power and because I found a good price for a refurbed one.

Here are my questions:

-Is this card good for high power gaming and such? ( Call of duty 4 and possibly Call of duty 5)

-Is there any other modifications I have to do to my E1705 for this card except modifing the chasi (shuch as bios modifications)?

-I know I have to buy 130 W power brick for this card (currently got 90 W), someone recommened the 130 W PA-13, on the back of my E1705 it says "for use with PA-10 adapters", is the PA-13 even compatible with the E1705 and will it work safely without damaging my E1705? (all the power ratings look the same as my current 90 Wat adapter)

Thanks for all and any help:emotion-1:

No this card is not meant for gaming,it used in business class notebooks for CAD, and 3D intensive apps.It should still function for games but not as well as a gaming GPU.

Just need to modify the chasis for the second heat pipe that is all.

Yes the power brick will work and is compatable with the E1705,other users have uograded to the Go 7950GTX 512mb card and had to get the power brick to supply it.No issues or problems, unless you get a bad Brick.

Correct, just the brick and the chasis MOD.I am not saying you can't use the FX2500,it will still play games, just not as well that's all.

so say I upgraded to the 7900GTX or to the 7950GTX instead of the quadro fx2500, there would still be no other modifications except the chasis mod and the power brick addition?
