Paper Jam Regi 075-134 on Dell 3010cn

Hi y'all

I just purchased a second-hand Dell 3010cn. After installing four new toner cartridges amd loading some paper, I tried printing a one page document. It claimed it had a "Paper Jam Reg 075-134" and then "Open Reg Cover and Check MPF". After repeatedly checking everywhere I could imagine for a paper jam, I found nothing. Nevertheless, every time I try to print it repeats the same error. I watched as it tried to print and it seemingly made no attempt to get any paper from the MPF (Multi-Purpose Feeder). I don't have the original paper manual, only the HTML downloaded version. There are three things I can think of...

1. I am not loading the paper properly.

2. I have not selected the correct type of paper. (I chose 'plain1')

2. The printer is simply broken and I should return it.

I can't think of anything else. Can anyone help me?

-Thanks in advance.

Was it the Black Developer Housing you replaced? Or just the black toner cartridge?

If the prior, did you happen to remove the Paper Handling/Registration Unit from the rear of the printer?

Does the error occur at power on, or only when you try to print something?

Try this:
1. Try printer something while shining a flashlight and looking inside the paper area towards the rear of the printer
2. Does the feed roller  turn?
3. While the feed roller is turning, does the back of the tray lift to meet the roller?
4. When the tray is fully lifted, does the feed roller actually contact and move the paper?

That's the problem...... and a common mistake. The plastic guides were not re-positioned correctly when the Paper Handler/Registration Assy was replaced. You probably see these guides pointed downward? They shouldn't.

Remove the PH/RA again and tilt the plastic guides until the square cutout on each guide fits into the bottom edge of the PH/RA as you replace it. If you don't understand, let me  know and I'll send you a picture tomorrow.

I'll also bet that sometime during the Developer Housing replacement process you wondered why you removed the PH/RA? It wasn't necessary.

I'm pretty sure I understand what you're saying. If you could post a picture that would be great though.

I tried clicking the link however the link appears to be dead... I am having the exact same issues and i was looking for the reason why the toner was pouring out of the bottom so i took the metal bracket off the bottom looking for a way to take the tray off to try and fix it...

The part i took off is made of metal and has two rods one on each end that slide into the bottom of the device.  I put that back on and put everything back together however it still wont feed paper and says paper jam any help would be appreciated.  My direct email is Thanks so much
