Pixely monitor Vostro 1710

Hi

Wondered if some one out there could help me please. Had a Vostro 1710 laptop for a few months now. The problem is I have never really been to thrilled with the graphics on it. Any way been playing around with it this weekend and have realised just how bad they really are.

The problem is that every thing looks really pixely. Icons are really fough looking and all video content is pixely and grainy. Before I contact Dell,is there any thing I am missing here?
