Lost everything

Question

I turned my computer on the other day and have lost everything.  I can still use the computer.  I have to search for everything.  But, nothing I try to save stays on my favorites.  It is just like a new Dell computer.  How can I get favorites to save and get my computer back up the way it used to be?  Thanks.  :emotion-42:

It might help if you gave us your computer model and operating system, at the very least.  Have you tried running a System Restore point of a recent date when all was well?  And have you run scans for virus or malware?

Thank you for your help.  I did System Restore.  I did actually think about it earlier, but since everything was gone, including iTunes and the favorites, I did not think it would work.  I am sorry I forgot to put in the computer model and operating system.  You were very helpful.  Thank you, again.
