Inspiron 1525 USB Input Issues

Well, plain and simple: They don't work. All of them.

I am using a WinXP SP3, Home edition. I've already installed NSS (Notebook System Software) to Rev30. I've tried 2 different flash drives with LED indicators (to see if they are functioning), and a USB Mouse. The flash drives flicker real quick when plugged in then go dim.

Any suggestions?

My system corrupted so i reinstalled windows. that's when i had the problem. i even used the disk that came with the laptop, both the windows one and the drivers one.

Test the hardware.  Plug in a USB keyboard and boot up the computer.  Try and enter BIOS setup with the USB keyboard.

My Insprion 1150's USB ports are fried beyond repair.  I took the laptop apart to find the southbridge chip with a burn spot on it.  Surprised the rest of the chip works including it's AC97 audio, where the USB portion fried.
