Connect Dell Inspiron 1525 to Philips LCD TV through HDMI cable

Hi,

Forgive my ignorance.  Just got my Inspiron 1525 and hooked it up to my philips LCD HD ready tv this morning and immediately got output (audio and visual) no problems.  But, came back a couple of hours later and can't get it to work at all.  I have tried different cables and everything I know (admitrecognising that the tv is connected as when I remove the cable it won't show the options using the "Fn & F8" keys.

I reckon that I am just being thick, but can anybody help please as hitting brick wall?

Many thanks in advance.

(forgot to say using a HDMI cable direct from the laptop to the tv.  Again, worked one time but now won't and I didn't change anything?????????

Have you found any solution?

i have just encountered this brick wall as well; it worked just fine the first time, but now i can only get video, no sound, and it only works when i turn the computer off and plug in the hdmi cable before i turn the laptop on with the TV on and even then it cut out randomly and i had to restart.

any insight to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.

thanks.

Hi Nicksz1213,

Please share exact system model and the operating system installed on your computer. Also share the model and manufacturer of the TV. Since when you are facing this issue? Did you make any software or hardware changes in your computer?
