Keyboard problems on Inspiron Mini 10

Hello,

Have just purchased the above netbook with XP Home. I selected the US keyboard instead of the UK one but have sorted that problem.

However intermittently the vowel keys aeiou do not work. If you press repeatedly they work.

Then at other times everything works fine!

Is there a known problem? Have I done something wrong?

Any help gratefully received

Stephen

Hello Stephen,

I'm afraid I can't help with your problem but I noticed you say you sorted out the problem that I currently have - I was wondering if you could tell me how to fix it.  I think I have a vague recollection when I first turned on the Mini 10 when it first arrived from Dell of being asked a question about the keyboard, and simply accepting the default selection which was US keyboard and I thought at the time I should have read that properly but just assumed I could alter it in the Control Panel.  I haven't been able to change my keyboard in the Control Panel and typing @ instead of " is driving me crazy!  I read somewhere to restore it to factory settings but I can't figure out how to do this either.  Somewhere I read to press Fn+F11 or Ctrl+F11 when I switch on the netbook, but this doesn't seem to do anything.

Another post says to change it in Control Panel and then after rebooting to delete the US keyboard driver, but there is nothing else to select in my keyboard option in Control Panel.

I would be really grateful if you could tell me how to fix this.

Thanks.

Claire
