You'll find the webcam driver under 'Input device drivers'

Hope this helps?

Hi I just had this same problem after my hard drive crashed on my Inspiron 1545.  It was still under warranty so Dell sent me a new one.  After I installed it, the webcam central software was missing.  After several phone calls and hours of online chat with technicians, they installed the software remotely and webcam central was there.  However, we got the same message that no driver was installed... even though it was.  I was told that this was an ongoing problem and Dell is going to replace the webcam.  They assured me this would solve the problem.  They are sending a technician out with a new webcam next week, so we'll see...

Hi chuckschon,

Please elaborate the problem with the Webcam so that I can help you better?

If the webcam is not working, I recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the webcam drivers.

To uninstall the Dell webcam central software, perform the following steps:

  1. Click Start.
  2. Click Control Panel.
  3. Using the drop-down menu next to View by: in the upper-right corner, select Large Icons.
  4. Click Programs and Features.
  5. Click Dell Webcam Central.
  6. Click Uninstall.
  7. Confirm the uninstall process by clicking OK.
  8. Once uninstalled restart the computer.

I have provided a link below to reinstall the webcam drivers.

Let me know the status.
