D600 memory slot problem
I have 2X512MB DDR 333MHz from Hynix. Configuartion says only 512. I removed module from slot B and it still works the same. I replaced slot B with known good module from slot A with slot A empty. It wouldn't boot.
Can I do anything to get slot B up and running? If no, can I run one 1GB module in slot A to get me back to my original capacity? What kind should I buy?

The D610 supports 2 Gb but only specifies modules of 1 Gb max.
Now the D610 runs on 1 module of 2 Gb in slot B...
Outside spec, but it works.

Is D610 same as D600 in terms of memory?

Is it feasible to troubleshoot the hardware? I have a scope and can check any communication signals between RAM module and other component. Can someone help me to understand the board layout and circuitry?

Does anyone know anything about the hardware on this beast? If you have any board pictures with references pasted on them or write ups, this info may help me.
