Do I qualify for the Windows 7 free upgrade?
I recently placed an order for a Dell Studio XPS 16 on Friday, June 19th, which is exactly a week before the offer to upgrade select computers to Windows 7 in the fall became available. However, I still have not paid for the system since it has not shipped yet (much to my dismay, but that's another matter). As such, I was wondering whether or not I would qualify for the upgrade since I will be paying for my laptop after the offer became available.

I would think you are NOT qaulified to receive the upgrade as it states computers purchased between June 26th and I believe Dec 31st, so I would say you purchased your PC before the June 26th date.
No offense to Jesse, but he didn't say that YOU would get the upgrade, he just stated that the XPS 16 is on the list. I don't believe, however, that you qualify.
If you are concerned, you can cancel your order. Reorder (as it's now passed June 26th) and then you should be ok.

Anyone know if I qualify for the upgrade?
I ordered my computer on the 29th of June '09
It's an Inspiron 530 with Vista home premium
Intel core Duo 3Mb 2.8 GHZ
4GB DDR SDRAM
500GB hard drive

Hi redsonixx, According to dell HERE, you do not qualify for the free upgrade.

Look again. Redsonixx said that the system was ordered on June 29, so that would qualify for the free upgrade.

The Inspiron 530 is not included by Dell for the free Win7 upgrade.
It's up to the computer manufacturer which models get the free upgrade to Win7.
Check this MS site:
If you buy a Vista Premium or higher upgrade from 26 June '09 to 31 Jan '10 you get a free Win 7 upgrade included.
If you bought or ordered any Dell computer before 26 June I wouldn't count on getting the Win7 upgrade.
You just missed the pre-order sale, Win7 premium for $50 and Pro $100, ended 11July.
