Looking For More Infomation Regarding The E521 AMD Motherboard!
Hi, I was just wondering if I could find anymore infomation on the motherboard the E521 uses. I want to buy an item from ebay, and wanted to know if it will support the older Phenom X4's. (not the Phenom II's) Even if it dosn't, does anyone know where I can find a link to the motherboard specs?

So does this mean it will support the highest AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 dual-core processor? How about a L3 cache? If not, what is the higest AMD Athlon X2 dual-core processor that I can get for the motherboard?

Not being an AMD fan I cannot answer those related questions but perhaps some other member will.
As to the 2.0 question no the board does not support that version. 2.0 devices will fall back to the 1.0 spec

I want verification that it will support the Athlon X2 6000+ Becuase that is the equilent to the E5300 and I didn't want to build a budget PC all over again if I can go ahead and just upgrade the CPU.
Also, does this motherboard support PCI-e 2.0?

The max CPU that the E521 can support is an Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 89W 3.0Ghz Windsor. This CPU is no longer made, but might be able to find one on eBay or like. If you search the internet you'll most likely find a 6000+ 89W Brisbane, but this is not fully compatible. Meaning some people have gotten it to run others have not. Appears to be related to what BIOS version you have. There is also a 125W version of the 6000+, but this is not a good choice. It produces to much heat for your integrated heatsink/fan assembly.

Do you think the Athlon 64 X2 6000 would be worth the upgrade? I'm trying to extend the lifespan on the PC for another year at least. I've upgraded it to 2GB DDR2 800, and a 8600GTS from its onboard.
Would the extra 900Mhz make a TRUE difference? I will also look for it on ebay, buying it new would be suicide.

It won't be significant, but you should notice a difference. I have one Inspiron 531 that I upgraded from a Sempron 2.0Ghz to a 6000+ Windsor and it runs great.
