clicking noise
clicking noise upper left, then freezes, inspiron 1750, see there's a driver fix listed for hard drive clicking but not for my 500 GB hard drive model number. could I try it anyway?

If the problem recently started and is near the hard drive, keep backups - and run a full hard drive diagnostic (F12 at powerup).

should have said, did run full diagnosttic and found nothing wrong
