How can I start my studio 1555 without using the power button?

My studio 1550 went to sleep and I could not get the monitor to wake up, so I decided to do a hard shutdown by holding in the power button.  It wouldn't shut off no matter how long I held it.  I decided to remove the battery, which did shut it down.  Now I cannot start the computer with the power button.  The light on the power button does not come on at all but I do hear it click.  I did plug in the cord and that did not help.  So I'm wondering if there's a way to start it without the power button.  I've read some posts for other models that say you can start it with the media center button, but I do not see that button on this model.  I realize I need to get the power button fixed but would love to get this thing started up so I can at least back up my files before it goes in for repairs.  Thanks for any help you can offer.

You can't.  It sounds like something is wrong with the system board.

To back up your files, remove the hard drive, mount it in a 2.5" 9.5 mm notebook drive case, attach it to a working system by USB and copy your files.

Thanks for the response.  The problem ended up being the power button assembly (a wire became disconnected but was in no shape to be reconnected).  The power button assembly is attached to the back cover of the monitor so the whole piece had to be replaced.  Beyond my expertise but a local shop fixed it nicely.
