Dell UltraSharp U3011 Monitor goes black

Hey,

Today in the morning I turned on my desktop and everything was fine. Then the monitor would stop working. I restarted the machine and the screen is black - not displaying anything. I know that the desktop boots successfully because I can hear the welcome windows 7 sound after few seconds. When the computer is off - the monitor orange light is fading in and out. When I turn on the desktop the light switches to blue, but the monitor display doesn't change. Can anyone help?

I connected my old monitor and everything works so it is not a fault of the graphics card.

Is this a Dell specific PC? If yes, what model?
What video card?
What port on the video card and the monitor is the cable using?
Are you using the Dell shipped monitor cables?
The U3011 has several ports, test all that you can from your video card.
VGA
2x DVI-D
2x HDMI
DisplayPort

It is not a Dell specific PC.

The graphics card is XFX Geforce 8600 GT XXX 620M 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express Video Card w/Dual DVI Retail

I am using DVI-D1. That's basically the only port available on the graphics card: It has this one and HDTV only.

I am using Dell shipped monitor cables.

By the way, I received the monitor ~4 weeks ago and it was working well up to now. I called Dell and they will send a replacement.
