Driver problem or virus

Help!   I've never had a driver or virus problem so I don't know what to do.  I opened what I thought was legit email and Inspiron Windows 7 crashed.  Macafee scan won't stay on and I've been told by friend it's a driver problem.  I can open laptop in Safe mode, only,  but neither the wireless or landline connection work, so can't download anything.  If I download driver scan (which one is best??) to a disc from a non Dell computer will it work on Dell.  I get Driver IRQ not less or equal message but don't trust or know what is what when I Google this info.

thanks

Trishk

Since you opened an e-mail and it crashed I would be more inclined to think it was some type of virus or malware.  If it were a driver you would have had problems before, a driver would not cause the problems you are having.

Repost this in the Virus/Malware section of the forum.  Include your PC Model Number (needed on ANY initial problem post), OS version (e.g. Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit) and any other error codes, etc.

Thanks fireberd,

I have it tagged on virus and malware section so I assume it will be read there as well.  I thought Macafee would stop any virus's but it looks like the virus

affected Macafee as it stays in Non real time scan mode and can't be changed.Guess I have been lucky as this is the first time I've ever had a non stoppable virus.

Some malware will shut down or cripple AV programs. Try the Mcafee site for help. Some AV sites will do a scan without loading their software, which might help.

I do not see your post.

Those issues are handled on the Malware Removal Forum.

You will have to actually post on the Malware Removal Forum, just tagging it will not work.
