UAC error with 375 BlueTooth Drives on Win 7 x64 (E6420/E6320)
Was wondering if anyone else was having the same issue. I've tried importing the bluetooth drivers into the SCCM driver cache as well as installing the Dell 375 A04 (MUP) driver software as a software package but it all ends in the same issue. When logging on as a normal user, you will get a error prompt saying that GPO has blocked newdev.exe to run. Logging in with an administrative account, you get a UAC prompt asking you to allow a driver to install. If you hit yes, it says the Bluetooth 375 module is installed. However, device manager has the same number of devices before or after if you check.
This has not been an issue with any of the other Dell Bluetooth packages (365 (E4300), 370 (E6400) and 375 (E6410/E4310) ). This appears to be something new with the Dell Bluetooth software for the E6420/E6320. Anyone else have this issue and if so have you found a resolution? Thank you.

I had previously run across something similar so I found it best to download the application installer, package the installer to run silently, and then have that installer program run with administration rights. Once we ran the installer with administrative rights (whether or not someone is logged on) we no longer experienced UAC issues. This works whether in a sequence or standalone advertisement.
Sorry for the delay in this information, I hope it is helpful still.

Setup.exe /s /v"FRESHINSTALL=True FORCE=True"
I believe I also tried Setup.exe /s /v"FRESHINSTALL=True" without success. Would you be willing to put your command line down if it is different?
Thank you.

Setup.exe /qn /ri
This appears to get rid of the UAC prompt, but I'm only able to login over RDP. However, if I go to device manager and tell it to look for updates, it does trigger a UAC response for installing Bluetooth drivers. So, I'll reimage it again tomorrow and see how it goes. Again, if you have your command line could you please post it?

After seeing the other notes, I think I need to go back and test with a no priviledge user. I am concerned now that my test accounts might have some priviledge that is allowing this to run without error.
I will get back later today once I have a chance to test this on a fresh build.

In any case, please let me know what you find.

"Setup.exe /qb /ri"
This works fine on older models but gives me the UAC prompt on first login for the M4600.
I'm keen to hear if there is a solution to this.

Thanks for the info. I don't have a 4600 to test with at the moment, but I'll check the BT drivers when I get my hands on one.

Hi Armitage,
I can confirm facing same issue with 6.3.0.6900 A04 Bluetooth driver + Win7 64-bit Ultimate as you do.
Any knowledge when Dell releases new driver version which fixes this issue?
