Do you have a bang in Device Manager for System Management Device?

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the agent twice with the same results. Downloaded a fresh copy of the source on the last try. Server Administrator functions find on the other 12 servers. All other server agents report in to Essentials without issue.

sounds like you have an issue with the installed open manage. i would suggest uninstalling it and then seeing if that is able to deploy open manage

Installed by not actively reporting. I can launch Server Adminstrator but there isn't much data to look at. If I start the server Server Administrator populates until the service fails (after approx.4 minutes)

The device currently shows with the "unknown" icon. When the DS SA Data Manager service is running on the problem device it does show the "warning" icon (controller firmware needs to be updated).

Are you running the same version of OMSA on all of the targets that are working ok? Are they at the same level of Windows SP, etc.? thx.

I am having a similar problem only when the application craters it spawns 50 to 75 cacls.exe and conhost.exe process. There application error reported in 2008 R2 Server is: Faulting application name: dsm_sa_datamgr32.exe, version: 5.9.5.696, time stamp: 0x4d39fc39
Faulting module name: ole32.dll, version: 6.1.7601.17514, time stamp: 0x4ce7b96f
Exception code: 0xc0000005
I have been working directly with DELL and we can not get OMSA to install properly, we can launch the web interface but there is no data, also the DM services are not starting up automatically. We have tried version 7.1 and 6.5

Hi Anthony,
This looks like it might be an OMSA problem. You might find more OMSA folks hanging out in the Sys Mgmt forum over here:

Thx!
