R710 ESXi 4.1 Embedded - backup SD card? Update source?
Hi,
I have a new R710 running ESXi 4.1 embedded off the SD card. How can I back up the complete card? I figured out how to back up the ESXi configuration but what if my card goes bad?
Also, is there a standard page for downloading any ESXi updates and/or a notification list? I'm guessing it's a custom Dell build.

Hi, you should be able to use GParted partition editor to copy the entire card, its freeware and can be found here,
gparted.sourceforge.net
As for the ESXi updates I'm not too sure as I can only find version A00 from 13/7/2010 available for download but I will find out for you.

The "custom" Dell build just includes some extra drivers that don't come on the VMware build.
For patches/updates to the hypervisor, you go to vmware.com.
