Latitude E6520 Bluetooth

Hi,

I'm having an issue with the Bluetooth drivers on the E6520, basically I had all the drivers installed and device manager was reporting no issues, all of a sudden (a day later to be exact) I have three unknown bluetooth devices in Device manager and I can't install drivers for them

Have the following system:

Windows 7 Pro 64bit SP1

i7 2760QM CPU

8GB/500GB/Intel Centrino Ultimate 6300 WiFi

I have tried the following methods to install the drivers all have failed...

Update through device manager and use Windows Update

Update via Device Manager and manually specify the drivers location

Tried using Dell client system update utility

manually downloaded the Buletooth package from Dell, only to have it fail (I can't veiw the entire error, but I think its to do with me using 64bit)

Unistalled & Reinstalled the entire bluetooth module

I had a similar issue with my E5410, but can't recall how I worked it out.

If anyone can help :) :)

andisonn,

You can look at these places to see if your bluetooth Connection is enabled

You can also try...

Start, in search type

bttray

click on bttray. This will put the bluetooth icon in the system tray, near the clock. It can then be enabled there.

Hi mate,

The bluetooth is already switched on, I don't have any bluetooth devices to test connectivity with, maybe I'll wait for a new driver to be issued from Dell....it just bugs me that the driver from Dell for some reason the PC now decides it doesn't like lol. Gotta love technology

Had the same issue. The device was no where to be found in the device manager though and after meddling with drivers, I took the laptop apart and checked if the Bluetooth module was properly connected. It wasn't... The cable was detached from the Bluetooth module and after reconnecting it, everything is working fine. Weird that some vibrations were enough to disconnect it in the first place. Check E6520 Service Manual on DELL support page for disassembly instructions, if you need them.
