Dimension 3100 solid amber light?
Ive read this problem comes from either power supply or CPU my all of my diagnostic lights flash green once when I attempt to boot the system then just solid amber on my power button any ideas? :emotion-18:

Unfortunately the only sure way to resolve this issue is by substitution of a good part. The power supply is usually the part substituted since it is much less expensive than replacment of the motherboard. If the computer will not start up with a new power supply, the motherboard is presumably faulty. Given the expense of the motherboard and the time required to replace it, most folks decide to replace the computer if that part turns out to be the problem.

Take out ram and try one at a time.
Take out all cards in slots.
See if it does anything.

Is the power button LED, solid green, blinking green, solid amber, blinking amber?
Are there any 'Beeps'?
Check the reading of 1-2-3-4 Diagnostic Lights on the front panel.
