Need Help, I Don't See Ports in Device Manager...?

Hello, I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop running Windows XP. For some reason Ports is not appearing in the device manager. Anyone know what it might be? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The ports entry is for parallel and serial ports - since the system  has neither, you won't see an entry for them.

Very few systems built in the last few years - and very few notebooks in particular - have serial or parallel ports.  Just about all peripherals these days are USB.
