How do I get 3 monitors for these machines?

Please help.

What would I need in order to have 3 monitors with each of these machines? What video card, ect.? These run Windows XP.

Optiplex 745
Optiplex 755
Optiplex 760
Optiplex 780
Optiplex 790

Any information is appreciated. Thank you.

But do the machines I listed support this video card?

I haven't checked all of them, but I did check the OptiPlex 745, and found there are 4 versions. Can you tell us what versions you have for them all. Thanks

See here there are 4 different sizes Minitower or MT, Desktop or DT, Small Form Factor SFF or Utra Small Form Factor USFF. The largest size MT can accomodate more cards.

The 790MT is being sold with Dual 1GB AMD Radeon HD 6450 (Full H., 2 cards w/ 1DP & 1DVI-I each) so if you have a MT for that unit you can use that configuration. This should support 4 displays.

For the 760 and 780 the NVIDIA Quadro NVS 420 (4 DVI) is supported, see here and here and the driver here. This should fit all except the USFF. There are some reports of it working in the 745 and so it will likely work in the 755 also.

I believe they are all Desktops or small form. They were all bought for a business (I don't know if that matters). Can they all support multiple video cards in order to get 3 monitors? Also, I cannot pay $500 per video card as I am needing to do this for 13 different machines. So something cheaper is prefered.

Natakuc4, thank you for the information.

The USFF model doesn't have a video card slot, so you're out of luck with that model. On the other hand, if your machines have a free PCIE 16x slow, the Sapphire card should work if there's enough room for it.

For the record, I tested a Sapphire 6450 in a five-year-old mainboard and it worked with full functionality, including S3 sleep. At $60, it's a heckuva deal for three-monitor support.

Any of the Eyfinity Models with Support 3 monitors with the appropriate Display port adapters.

The SAPPHIRE HD 6450 FleX incorporates this SAPPHIRE exclusive feature into a mainstream graphics card and delivers the most cost-effective Eyefinity solution available for increased productivity in tasks such as editing or business applications. It can also be used in multi-screen information display systems where three low cost monitors can be directly connected to each FleX card installed.

The 745/755 etc ONLY supports Single Slot cards so the SAPPHIRE Card WONT fit.

Single Slot 5450's with Eyefinity will fit in the Tower and Desktop but not the SFF or USFF.
