no boot up, black screen, two beeps

Hi,

When I power up my dell inspiron, i see black screen (the fan is running, power button is shining) and I hear 2 beeps all the time with 3 sec. of pause. What is the problem, is it RAM?

Try reseating the memory module(s).If you have two modules test each of them separately.

You didn't mention your laptop model - click the link below ,look for your specific laptop and download the service manual.

It's normally not a big deal to reseat modules but take care and don't damage the connectors.

Well... my RAM is inside. Does it mean that my main board is dead? Any advices?

That actually didn't work out either. I tried to reseat them, use only one. I have to get some other DDR3 memory to check if that is RAM or main board probelm. Hope the first one... thx for all the help!
