Inspiron 14z (5423) cpu upgrade?

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on whether it is possible to upgrade the cpu in an Inspiron 14z (5423)?

It currently has an Core i3 2367M @ 1.4GHz cpu, so I was wondering if I could put a new i5 or even i7 in there?

Many thanks.

This system uses a ball-grid CPU - unlike mainline notebooks, the CPU is soldered to the mainboard.  It cannot be removed for upgrading.

The only upgrade option would be a replacement mainboard with a faster CPU on it - assuming one exists.

Thanks ejn63, I suspected it wasn't replaceable as the manual covered replacing pretty much everything else!

Thanks for the response.
