I just reveived my brand new Dell inspiron 14z. When I turn it on I get an error message.
"Check cable connection!"
"PXE - M0F : Exiting Intel PXE ROM."
Reboot and Select proper Boot device
or insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key

Hi davidwisk,
It can be annoying when the system fails to boot properly. I suggest you to check if the hard drive is detected in the BIOS. Please follow the steps provided below to check this:
1. Restart the laptop and start tapping the F2 key to load the system setup page.
2. On the Main menu check if the hard drive details are displayed next to Fixed HDD.
You will also need to run a hardware diagnostics by following the steps provided in the link below:

Please let me know about your findings.

I just ran the diagnostic test suggested and I get the "All Tests passed" message.
Also next to Fixed HDD it lists LITEONIT LCT-128M35
Please advise.

Make sure that the SSD is listed before the network boot in the boot list.

For all those with this error, just ignore it and when you install an OS, it goes away...
