problem in external mic
I have inspiron 15R SE, when I connect an external mic it doesn´t work. I have installed the latest version of the sound card driver but I face the same problem only the built-in mic works but the external doesn´t?
any suggestion please?

Does the external mic jack show on the Recording tab of the Sound properties (where you right click on the audio icon on the taskbar and select Recording devices)? Does it say something like Conexant High Definition device or look something like this?
