loading XP Home edition - failure at [ WAKE]

Hi , new here and a novice of sorts. I have a problen trying to reload xp into dimension9150 keep getting error message - previous attempts failed checkpoint [WAKE]   .  What is this ,What am i doing wrong .All ive managed to do is format the hard drives after a complete crash .

Sounds like a hard drive failure so reinstalling windows is useless. You should remember that you should never format before installing an OS. The install process will allow you to format the drive. Run the diagnostics and include the extended hard drive test.

Thanks for the advice , wish i had known earlier, never mind i do love a challenge and the info you gave will be remembered for the future. Thats unless I have no future epecially if they bring a law against cruelty to pc's when it goes out the window .....lol

Thanks for the answer ive tried it and nothing but the same problem .ive read about sata settings and this  green geek (ME) is gonna try that . thanks anyway.
