Laptop battery dies in 1 hour

Hello,

I purchased Dell Inspiron n5110 last year in March 2012, till April battery back was upto 2hrs but now its not more than 1 hour (max 1hr 10mins). Am using Windows 7 Home Premium. Please let me know how to increase battery life.

Thanks in advance.

Hi rachit20,

The battery backup depends on the usage of the system and the applications you run on the system. Please refer to the below link for more information on battery backup.

These batteries can greatly vary in lifetime based on number of recharges and depth of discharge. Deep discharges are BAD. Number of recharges is 300-500. Try not to routinely discharge below 25%. You can get good low cost replacements from e-Bay and Amazon; $20-30 with 3 year warranties.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

In battery meter, 'Enable Dell Intelligent Display' is grayed out. How can I enable it.

and Do I need to enable Dell Extended battery Life as well or not?

Thanks,

Rachit
