The stock PSU on the XPS 8700 is 460 watts.

It should work like a charm.  These are only 60 watt video cards.  You have more than enough power. I just ordered the exact same one.  This EVGA does have an added 6 pin for extra power and you have two of these connectors available.  My understanding anyway is that Nvidia does not allow these cards with their current software to exceed 75 watts even though EVGA says up to 85 watts. Nevertheless, it's the most power efficient card out right now for the performance it offers.

This card has a full UEFI bios.  There's even a card that comes with it that states it and always suggests that you update to your most recent system bios before installing.

Whatever the stock is....  650 I think.... I also have a Blu-ray burner and one extra internal and an external hdd.

Must be 460 then.......  Got mine in 2013.......   I've had no problems with it... Other than being a tight fit.

Is that with all models of the Dell XPS? Or the newer ones? I got my XPS 8700 on December 23rd of 2013 so should that be the same? I'll be opening my PC either today or sometime this week to clean it so if that is the only way to find out I'll do that.

A little more input here. The XPS 8700 stock your PSU is 460W, GPU is nVidia GTX645 OEM. My first upgrade was to the GPU GTX 660 not much of a leap but I wanted to get  away from the OEM stigma.

Now I will be installing a Seasonic SS-660 XP and EVGA GTX760 superclocked.  Just see if you can get a backplate EVGA should include this but if you can find it the cost is $20. Running the GTX 660 is very good

you'll be happy for a short time but as all of use we must build bigger so long as the mony is there.

Oh I forgot I was in touch with EVGA they are discontinuing the 700 series but will continue to support it
