Password for vCenter database?

Is there a way to change the password for the vCenter database in vFoglight 6.6.2 without having to do an entire installation or re-configuration?

Password for the Virtual Center connectivity is maintained in the VMWare Agent properties, and can be changed as needed without modifying or restarting the FMS.

I meant the database not the account required for Virtual Center connectivity.

The associated database is Oracle.   We are using the Virtual Center database and it had an original password of less than 12 characters.  The vFoglight installation wanted at least 12 characters for the Database Account password.  Now we are trying to get them in synch without a re-install.

Does that make sense?

Ok, so you are using the same Database Server for your two separate databases, one for VC, and a second for Foglight, correct?

And you are talking about the password on the database account used by the FMS server to talk to it's own, separate database on the same server as the one used for Virtual Center?

If so, you can change the database password without a reinstall.

Give support a call and they can talk you through doing that, kind of beyond the scope of the communities, given the opportunity for mishap.

Take a look at this support link article.  It will walk you through changing it on our end in the server.config file and then you can have the DBAs change it on their end.
