U3415W, Black border is normal

Currently have two U3415W monitor connected to my Dell M3700 with nVideo K2000M video card. Output is Laptop DP > input mDP > Output DP > Input DP  The edge of my Windows 7 desktop doesn't go to the edge of the monitor. I have changed the monitor to 20:9 and Auto Resize without luck. My current resolution is 3440x1440 for both monitors.  Anyway I can get the desktop to the edge of the screen?

Updated = The black borders are normal. I see it on both of my U3415W. Run the BID (Built-in Diagnostics). You will also see the black borders there. A quick search on YouTube shows many reviews, all showing the black borders. Go here and see 14 seconds in.

If I'm understanding your question/issue correctly mine also has a black border on the left, right and top edge. I think it's normal. I don't the picture goes edge to edge.

There's a black border around the picture that doesn't reach the bezel. Typically our picture should fill to the bezel, but isn't the case here.

Please explain?

Please confirm whether the u3415w doesn't fill screen. The whole concept of a narrow bezel is to maximize screen real estate, particularly across multiple monitors. I've been trying for days to get my screen to fill to the edges (bezel) and it would be nice to know if this is the case here.

I'm new to the U3415W and some things about it are puzzling.  But this looks to me like the protective glare-reducing outer panel simply overlays the bezel at the top and sides.  The bottom bezel extends out a few millimeters beyond this, so is not overlaid.

Its kind of a nice touch I'd say, better looking than bare bezels.

Can we have Dell official clarification on this. I have it connected to 2017 MacBook Pro with USB-C/MDP adapter connecting to DP on monitor. I have also tried HDMI to HDMI. Both times there is a 10mm gap between bezel and picture at the top and sides and about 3mm gap at bottom.
