U2711, Unable to set 2560x1440 resolution?

Hello all

I'm using a dual link dvi cable as recommended by the manual and I'm unable to set anything higher than 1680x1050. My graphics is onboard and is Intel HD Graphics 4600. HDMI cable connection shows 1080p at best and my motherboard does not have a displayport output for me to connect via display port.  What can I do to fix this problem?

Thanks in advance

The monitor is passive. It does not dictate the resolution. That is done by the video card and its driver. The DVI cable we shipped is DVI-D Dual Link. The ports on the U2711 are DVI-D Dual Link. So if that is connected to a DVI port on the computer and you are only getting 1680x1050, that tells us that the Intel video is only sending a DVI-D Single Link signal. You need to install a video card that has DVI-D Dual Link ports and capability.

Thanks for your reply Chris.

I upgraded my video card to a Geforce GT 730 so the DVI output problem is no more an issue. The card can output at 1440p without a problem via Displayport and DVI. I just installed the graphics card yesterday and when I connected a DVD-D Dual Link cable the resolution 2560x1600 worked but the text was all fuzzy, pixelated and unclear. What might be the cause? I immediately had to shift back to my HDMI connection which limits the resolution to 1080p. I would like to use the monitor in the native resolution which is 2560x1600.

Did you install the latest driver from Nvidia? Did you test both DVI ports on the rear of the U2711?
