Dell Inspiron One 2320 Power Button is amber

The power button on my Dell Inspiron One 2320 appears solid amber when I turn it on. I ran the Dell scan on the system and it passed every test.

Do I have a problem? Should I be worried about it?

Thank you for your help.

 Hi Linda,

Thank you for reaching out to us. Disconnect all peripherals connected to the computer. Press and hold the Power button for 30 -40 seconds and connect the peripherals back.

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately, this didn't work. The Power button wouldn't stay on for more than 10 seconds; I tried to hold it for the 30 - 40 seconds you suggested. It stayed lit (and on) for approximately 10-15 seconds then went dark and power was off. (I did disconnect all the peripherals. Obviously, I had to reconnect them to get back online to respond. The Power button is still amber.)

Would you have any other suggestions?

Again, your help is much appreciated.

Linda

I am an idiot and am making a public declaration of that fact. I had done everything but the most basic action. This morning I disconnected the power cord, left it off for about 60 seconds and then plugged it back in. Voila! Power button is white again.

Sorry to bother you about this. But thanks for taking time to respond.

Happy Holidays!
