Hi Terry, have there been any updates in the recent weeks regarding Lollipop?

It is coming but we don't have an official date yet.   As soon as we do it will be shared here.

and I also remember seeing one of the dell vp comment on a web site about the 5.0 starting to roll out soon as in hours/days....

The above article is all the same guff we've been fed for months! "Dell venue 8 to be shipped with Lollipop" Give us some proper dates to work with! They moved it from January to Feb to March and now its april and I still dont have it. I see that the 10" is due in May to be shipped with Lollipop so i guess we'll have to wait until then to see if we'll get it or not.

Thanks for this - well i'm looking forward to having lollipop - i'm hoping that this will sort some of the other issues i've been having with the tablet (such as the android based cast screen and the move to SD card button)

yea I have not seen an update on the tablet as of yet... so wonder whats going on

1) is the roll out actually happening???

2) was this all a lie and its still April 21st?

3) none of them are right and its even later

I have a 30 day return policy on my dell so if this doesn't come out in 30 days its getting returned. 4.4 *** compared to 5.0 (since I have a 5.0 tablet as well)

Yeah my 30 days are up, unfortunately.

I hope, I really really hope, that Dell knows a whole bunch of folks bought this with the understanding that lollipop was coming. And with the hope that it would be timely - I could become a long term user of Dell tabs. Or not. 

The longer it takes, the higher the expectations will be that it works right, no kinks or bugs.

If these couldn't get the kit Kat  update right that bricked most of their older generations of Venue 8's,  I would advise not holding your breathe for the lollipop......

Dell is completely useless with regards to customer expectation and satisfaction.

They have your $, that's all they they care about.

If this sounds bitter,  check my other posts - it'll clarify my distrust,  dislike of the corporate leech that is Dell........

Why is Dell VP telling a review website that the OS is rolling out and will be getting message soon. (soon is not 11 days from now). IF he was WRONG he needs to come out and say Also why is your newsroom reporting that the device is shipping with 5.0? I know I will prob never get an answer to this but this is what makes me mad...in 2 places right now they are wrong..

And what happened with dell venue 8 3830? it still needs a lot of updates for android 4.4 for those black screens or even better if this one gets android 5.0
