E5530 volume rises to full on it's own

Hello. I don't have the answer for that issue, but here are some things you could try, not in any particular order.

> Use Windows System Restore and pick a restore point dated prior to when the issue began.

> See if the issue is there when using the Windows native audio driver.

• 1. Open the Device Manager (type devmgmt.msc in the search box, or find it in the Control Panel).
• 2. Expand the "Sound, video & game controllers" and right click on "IDT High Definition Audio Codec".
• 3. Select to "Update Driver Software".
• 4. Click on "Browse my computer for driver software".
• 5. Click "Let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer".
• 6. Put a check in the box "Show compatible hardware" if not already checked.
• 7. In the list of devices, click "High Definition Audio" (the native driver).
• 8. Click "Next".
• 9. On the Update Driver Warning box, click "Yes" (install the driver).
• 10. Restart the laptop if prompted. If not prompted, then no need to restart.
• [To get back to the IDT driver, do it again but reverse the names in steps 2 and 7.]

> Remove the IDT driver through Control Panel Programs and Features. Get an earlier version of the driver from the Latitude E5530 html page.

I have a similar problem, I just installed everything on my new m3800. Nonetheless I tried installing the latest driver and also checked for other updates etc.. Still there..

The problem:
Somehow the volume changes when a new application starts using it (sound).
The volume bar slider shows the same level, but the soundbar that shows the intensity of sound is going full.
When I click on the volume bar slider, slide it a little and place it on the same place, the volume drops drastically (this because I normally have enough volume when its 1/4 of the bar).

This is happening with the laptop sound, with the extra speakers, but also when I have my earphones in, which really hurts my ears.

If I open a song in iTunes, it happens. I 'reset' the bar by shifting the slider an put it on the same place. If I pause the song and open a youtube clip in my browser, it happens again. If I pause the clip and play the song it happens again.

To be clear, the slider does not move to full, it displays the soundlevel I set it to the last time I shifted it.

But clearly the volume goes to full somehow?

If someone understands this problem and know how to solve it, please let me know.
