Stuck Logging in - PocketCloud Auto Discovery (free version)

Stuck Logging in - PocketCloud Auto Discovery (free version)

Hello,

I am encountering an error while trying to setup Auto Discovery; when signing in using the Auto Discovery Setup I get stuck logging in. Nothing happens. I have verified that I am using the same accounts on both the companion and the application.

Device: Droid X
Application version: 1.1.108 (free version)
Computer's operating system: Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium, Service Pack 2
PocketCloud Windows Companion Version: 2.1.5

Thanks!

Hi,
We are trying to reproduce this issue.
Could you please clarify where exactly did you stuck? And what you see?
1) Is it happens in PocketCloud Auto Discovery settings when you enter email address and password and then click log in?
or
2) Is it happens when you select machine to make a connection and you see pop up "Connecting" and then nothing happened?

Please let us know as much details as possible

Thanks

Hello,

I'm having similar issues getting stuck whiile logging in on my mobile device

System configuration:

Mobile: Motorola Defy w/ Android 2.1
PC: Win7 Ultimate, Admin, Remote stuff enable, PocketCloud Companion Diagnostics confirmed ok

I tried manually settin up an RDP but failed doing so. Autodiscovery would be great.

[edit]

Somehow it is now letting me connect to my PC but please don't ask what I did differently than before.

Anyways, now I have a new problem which appears to be windows-related. On my PC I have 3 accounts, all of them are Admin. When I connect to my PC with PocketCloud, I see the login screen of my PC with one account showing as active or in use or whatever the english term is (I'm running my system in German). When trying to log on to any of the accounts, I'm getting a NACK telling me login to that account failed with a couple of options why it may have failed (blank password not allowed, system restrictions, etc.). Any idea what I need to adjust in W7 to receive acces?

[/edit]

Looking forward to your advice.

Thanks
Jan

Hi alex

I think I had the same problem - just stuck with the wheel saying logging in

I ran the diagnostic from the tray icon and the firewall was blocking the port for RDP. I went into the control panel/ security centre/ windows firewall then in exceptions checked remote desktop, and in advanced I selected the relevant network connection, clicked settings and checked remote dektop again.

It worked after that!

Hi,

Are you using WiFi or 3G?
Could you please check if you can access internet from the Android browser.

Thanks

Hi,

I'm currently using 3G, haven't tried WiFi yet. But as written in my edit above, I can now see the login screen of my PC but can't access any of the accounts. Maybe I'll open a seperate thread for this issue.

OT:
Another thing I find quite annoying with the Companion on my PC is that the window size of "Auto Discovery Settings" is not properly adjusted to local screen settings. I'm running the Companion on a multi media PC in my living room which is connected to a 32" full HD TV set. In order to be able to read everything from my couch I have reduced the resolution to 1360 x 768 and increased the font size to 175%. This works well with everything else but PocketCloud where I can only see part of the text in the afore mentioned window. It would be nice if the size of windows would not be static. This is probably also worth another thread...

Thanks
Jan

Hi,

thanks for the quick follow up - good hint. I didn't have passwords set for any of the accounts but after adding one to one account I was able to access that specific account. However, I got kicked out of my local session on the PC which is not exactly what I expected from the PocketCloud app. My understanding was that I could use the app on my smartphone to remotly control an active session on my PC - which is really what I was looking for.

Anyways, thanks for the good support. I appreciate it!

Thanks
Jan

Actually PocketCloud supports this feature for Windows Server machines. You can also install VNC and you will be able to do what you want. It won’t kick you out of your local session on the PC.
