Ram Upgrade issue
I am having trouble installing more ram into my Dell OptiPlex 790 .
When I put them in and when I boot up I get a single beep then 3 beeps the one ( ram error ) The pc wont boot with the new ram. Its a Dell OptiPlex 790 the existing ram is PC3-10600u-9-10-133 currently with 2 x 2gb - The Ram I have purchased is DDR3 1066 MHZ PC8500 Kingston server ram
The specs say it will allow up to 16gb ( 4 x 4 ) Have I got the wrongg ram ?

Hi,
A server RAM wouldn't work on desktop motherboard.
Servers use ECC and sometimes registered memory. Whereas desktop RAM are non ECC.
Do let us know if you want the part# of memory which would work on your machine.
