Hello. You have selected the correct one. Microphone Array is the internal mic. It is a pair of mics located in the webcam assembly at the top of the display screen.

The things you can try are

> Reinstall the IDT audio driver from the Inspiron 14z 5423 support page. When you get to that page, first select your operating system by clicking on the Change OS selector:

> Adjust the mic volume and boost. Here is a screen shot of the path, but on yours start from Microphone Array:

> If you have a program in your list of programs named Dell Webcam Central, open that program and find the microphone settings. Make sure the mic is not turned off.

If none of those things fix the mic, it could be damaged. To fix the mic array would require replacing the webcam.

i let my microphone unfunctionally for a decade. after upgrading to windows 10. my microphone works again. so the problem is on software conflict

Check the cable connection in the bezel (the plastic that surrounds the display screen).

Go to the 14z 5423 support page and click on Manuals, then click on "Owner's Manual". That is the Service Manual with instructions and picture of how to take apart the laptop. Go down to the section "Removing the Camera Module" and you can see a picture of where the connection is, with instructions of how to get to that area.

Thank you sir, i will read that but is there any possibility that there are crash between software especially between Dell Webcam and IDT maybe ? because when i look around my system current configuration from first time until now, there are big difference.. this is because i've reinstalled my windows without using Dell Reinstallation Disc so some driver is different from system tag, because i downloaded and installed it.

or maybe from other software ?

Windows has a native driver for the webcam so you don't need to download and install one.

Your screen shot shows that Windows is recognizing Microphone Array, so that looks right.

It all looks okay to me, but it is always possible that software is not configured correctly somewhere. The best thing would be if you could restore the laptop back to the original factory configuration using the restore image on the hard drive, but if you have wiped the entire hard drive then the image was wiped too.

Thank you sir for your answer and explaination, i'm sorry if i ask too much..

it's wiped too hahaha.

i will replace my webcam and also mic. array if i'm sure that there is no a problem with software crash..

Regards from me.

When you are setup as in your screen shot, if you tap on the bezel around the webcam, do any green bars appear at all?
