access to MS-DOS operating system in a Dell Dimension 2400 series computer with Windows XT as a default startup sequence
I am trying to access the MS-DOS in order to reformat the C hard drive to delete data before I junk the computer. Does anyone know how to access the MS-DOS MODE in this computer ? Thank you.

DBAN will wipe the hard drive, but reformatting won't.
You can bring up a command prompt clicking Run on the task bar and entering 'cmd'.
