Sandiboxie in Win 10.

I have not installed the Sandboxie following my upgrade to Win10.

I do find a beta version of Sandboxie as available for Win 10 but would like to know if save to download this beta version. { What will happen to cortana-which inbuilt in internet search facilities . This is there on the screen that cannot make it disappear!! to stop other computer users typing their search on there than typing it in Sandboxie IE}

Thank you in advance for your advice.

Snow,

You might be best-off asking your question in the Sandboxie Forum http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/index.php

Yes, my understanding is that their 5.x beta versions support Windows 10  http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=21354

Keep in mind that BETA represents a TESTING version, which may potentially contain more [known or unknown] errors than an officially-released version.   Users are volunteering to be "guinea pigs", and must proceed at their own risk.   Of course, if you really want/need sandboxie under Win10 "now", you may have no choice.   I'm sure they not intentionally doing anything bad with it.

I am not running Win10 (I have Win 8.1/7/XP systems).   And I have "frozen" my sandboxie on Win7/XP at 4.09.x for reasons indicated here:  http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/virus-spyware/f/3522/t/19580964    While I still use Sandboxie occasionally --- particularly if I have need to access a suspicious-looking link --- I don't use it regularly (even though I probably should).   So I'm satisfied with this older version for the foreseeable future.

Snow,

I see that Sandboxie 5.04 (NOT a beta version) has finally been released.   http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?VersionChanges#v_5.04

I don't believe I personally will be testing it... so you're on your own if you go for it.

NOTE for Windows 10:    Metro applications are not supported at this time. This includes the MS Edge browser. If you tell Sandboxie to start your default browser, and the default browser is Edge, Sandboxie will start IE instead.

Thank you ky331. Very good of you to inform me about the release.

I decided against Sanboxie for the time...
