Upgrading RAM on Inspiron 7737
Hello,
I recently purchased a Inspiron 7737 laptop. The laptop came with 8 GBs of RAM.
I went to buy another 8 GB of RAM. I bought the exact brand of what was already in the laptop.
After installing the extra stick of RAM, I download the BIOS from the support site and ran that application. The application ran successfully.
However, when I went to look at my computer, it still only has 8 GB of RAM. What else do I have to do for it to read the extra 8 GBs? Does the Inspiron 7737 allow for 16 GB of memory.
Someone please advise... Thank you in advance

Hi RPARHAM23,
Thank you for writing to Dell Community Forum.
The maximum RAM supported on Inspiron 7737 is 8GB only.
Since the system already has a 8GB RAM stick, the system will not recognize the new 8GB RAM stick.
The system can support: 2GB, 4GB and 8GB
Kindest Regards,
