XPS 8700 Resets itself - last Dell I will buy
I love my two XPS 410 & 420 in that were great work horses. My old dell Vostro is still going strong and is my working laptop. But, with that said this XPS 8700 is a bunch of ***. It keeps resetting itself once a day or a couple of days. I have put in two tech support tickets and nothing. I have ran all the diagnostics and reseated all the memory and graphics card. The worst part is that I get call from someone saying they are from Dell support and they keep getting these flags when my computer resets. They said I have malware but malbytes and malRemoval said that it was clear. Then they said they could fix my computer for $250 year. I sold them to go "F" themselves.
It seems to me that Dell's service is just *** now and I'm stuff computer that I let my wife use for email and Facebook. So Long Dell

Exactly what does that mean?
Have you tested the hard drive?
Have you scanned thoroughly for malware?
Do you have corrupted/missing Windows file(s) (What version of Windows?)
Do you have an outdated driver(s)?
Have you looked in Windows Event Viewer for errors logged around the time of a "reset"?
Back up your files on external media asap, to be safe.
Have you tried doing a Windows Refresh?
The calls claiming to be Dell are scammers so just hang up on them. Never let them remotely log into your PC and don't give them any personal info such as the PC's Service Tag, credit card numbers etc.

The scammer that is calling may have actually installed malware on the computer. How else would they know you were having problems? Don't be so fast in blaming Dell when the fault may be your own. Much malware gets installed when you visit shady web sites.

The scammers guess.
I get these spammer calls too. Some times they say your Dell PC, other times HP.
If they say Dell, I ask which Dell PC because I have several of them (true). That confuses them! The last guy said "The one you're using now.", except I wasn't using any PC when he called. SPAMMER!
