Constant freezing and lockups on Inspiron i7559

I recently picked up the Inspiron i7559 from Amazon and it has worked great for gaming and handling my intensive programs.

However, it can't deal with simple browsing and other tasks that I presume to rely on the integrated chipset (Intel HD 530). Oftentimes the entire computer locks up just clicking on a program, opening up a webpage, and even right clicking the desktop which I reason to be as a result of the integrated drivers.

I've updated the drivers to the newest possible version offered on Dell's page for my laptop but to no luck. I can't keep dealing these lockups every minute so is there any word on new drivers from Dell or a solution?

I also got one of these from Amazon, same issue since day 1 also. I have called support, all drivers and software is up to date. They claim to have "no record" of this issue. Therefore, I am returning this junk. I love how they assert this is an unknown issue, yet MANY posts have been made both here, on tomshardware.com and amazon.com all reporting this SAME issue.

Seems likely that Dell is hiding from something, which is why I have decided I need to return this. I cannot afford to pay for Dells mistakes.

My suggestion is to Return the device and buy something else that works. Dell is not addressing this issue, therefore, not returning it will mean you are stuck with a laptop that has to be rebooted all the time (sucking up battery every time)

I want this laptop to work. I love the battery size and features, however, it doesn't work correctly. I am very irritated by Dell's inability to even get this issue on the radar. It makes me want another brand. Moreover, after being told they have not heard about this issue I am inclined to never  buy anything that says Dell on it ever again for any price.

My Inspiron 7559 was freezing frequently and required numerous hard power-offs every day. I couldn't even check my email without worrying about the screen freezing before sending. I updated the bios to the latest version but the problem continued. I updated all my dell software on the machine and the problem continued. Then I was googling and found that some folks were solving the problem by removing all the dell support software from their machines. I proceeded to uninstall anything from Dell that wasn't required for system operation. It has been over a week since this grand-uninstall operation and I haven't frozen once!

I have been having the same issue of freezing since I received my Inspiron 7559 from Amazon in April, this year.  It seems that it is getting worse.  Initially I did a complete recovery and it didn't help at all.  It is long past the time to return the computer but I do have the Dell extended warrantee.  My question now is, Is your problem still solved after all this time?  Your post was dated in July and I wonder if you still are without the freezing problem?

I had this problem and was able to solve it. My Inspiron I7 7000 would lock up multiple times per day either when I was in the middle of typing, moving the mouse or if it was in standby mode.

I tried removing all the dell software as suggested by another user but that did not solve the problem.

I went into the power settings, additional settings and changed the mode to high performance and now it has not locked up in 3 weeks. :)
